The second week has flown by in a whirlwind of practice, growth, and deepening connections. While week one focused on fundamentals, this week has been about putting those skills into action. Each team has found their rhythm, with handlers growing more confident in problem-solving and dogs responding with increasing trust and understanding.
The bonds forming go beyond just handler and dog – our class has become a tight-knit community. We’ve cheered successes, supported each other through challenges, and shared plenty of laughs along the way. Even the unexpected moments – from delayed (yet still very much appreciated) lunches to surprise weather – have become shared memories that strengthen our connection.
What makes this group special is how genuinely we care about each other’s success. Every small victory is celebrated, every challenge met with encouragement. As we prepare for our final test and graduation, there’s a sense that the relationships built here will last long after we return home. We’ve created a network of understanding and support that will continue to grow as we each navigate life with our new service dog partners.
Now, with test day upon us, we’re ready to demonstrate how far we’ve come and begin the next chapter of our journeys – together, even when apart.
Stay tuned for graduation day!
