The anticipation of graduation day felt like forever and overnight all at once. The ceremony marked not just an ending, but a beautiful beginning filled with tears, laughter, and profound gratitude. Twenty-eight puppy raisers bid farewell to their furry friends entering team training, while 11 others reunited with our class’s dogs to celebrate their transition to their forever homes.

Meeting Frisco’s puppy raiser family was truly a privilege. Their warmth, care, and passionate dedication to Canine Companions’ mission shone through. What struck me most was witnessing their deep connection with Frisco alongside their selfless willingness to let him go for a greater purpose. My son, determined as ever to make the moment memorable, added his own special touch by offering a heartfelt toast during our reunion brunch.

The graduation ceremony itself was deeply moving. As our classmate who gave a speech shared his experience from the past two weeks, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house – his words echoing the transformative journey we’d all experienced together.

As Cooper and Frisco begin their future together, my heart overflows with gratitude. To Frisco’s puppy raisers: your dedication and love laid the foundation for this amazing partnership. Every command he knows, every gentle response, every moment of patience—it all started with you. Thank you for giving so much of yourselves to prepare him for this journey.

To our remarkable training team: your expertise, compassion, and unwavering commitment to each team’s success is truly inspiring. The thoughtfulness you put into each match, the way you guided us through challenges, and how you empowered us to grow in confidence—we are forever grateful.

These past two weeks were transformative. From pre-match day jitters to our first store run, from late-night kitchen conversations to play yard sessions—each moment was precious. Our class quickly became family, supporting each other through tears and triumphs, sharing stories and strength, and creating bonds that will last well beyond graduation.

Watching Cooper and Frisco’s relationship blossom has been magical. Like Cooper, Frisco has such a warm, people-loving personality, and their connection grows stronger each day. The way this match honors both of their unique spirits while supporting their partnership is a testament to the incredible work of this organization and all the people who pour their time and hearts into it.

As we begin our new lives as a service dog team, we’re humbled to join this amazing community. Thank you to every volunteer, staff member, and fellow graduate who has made this journey possible. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for Cooper and Frisco!
